AccelaRAD Announces Five New Installations

Demand for Cost-Effective, Low Maintenance AccelaRAD SaaS Solution Grows During Challenging Economic Times

June 23, 2009—Atlanta—AccelaRAD, the leading national Software as a Service (SaaS) radiology image management company, announces installation of its advanced digital management software at five new sites, including three Mid-Atlantic Unified Health System-affiliated imaging centers (New Stanton, Penn.), Charlton Memorial Hospital (Folkston, GA) and Red Bud Regional Hospital  (Red Bud, IL).

Mid-Atlantic sites are using AccelaRAD’s Virtual Radiology Network (VRN) to provide full digital PACS functionality, offsite archiving and sophisticated online communication with referring physicians.  Charlton Memorial, a critical access hospital in rural Georgia, is using the VRN to provide remote access to images to its offsite radiology reading group as well as to referring physicians.  Red Bud is using the VRN to accomplish similar goals.

R. Brad Pettican, Managing Partner at Mid-Atlantic Unified Health Systems, believes AccelaRAD’s VRN provides his organization with unique benefits.  “Mid-Atlantic is partner in a network of interrelated, but independent facilities with relationships with multiple hospitals.  We needed an affordable, flexible solution that could be shared among all locations but that would support independent preferences and workflow.  AccelaRAD is the perfect fit.  They understand the needs of imaging centers and where the market is going.”

Pettican notes that AccelaRAD’s VRN is an affordable solution that shifts implementation and hardware expenses from a capital expense to an operational budget.  Moreover, AccelaRAD manages all IT maintenance and upgrades. “However, at the same time, we enjoy tremendous flexibility and control over the system,” he says, pointing out that the sites can set their system’s own rules, user-based IDs and much more.  “We haven’t found anything like this on the market.”

Pettican notes that Mid-Atlantic is in the process of VRN installation in an additional imaging site and is considering rolling out the solution system-wide.  “From installation to customization and service, all facets of our relationship with AccelaRAD have been superb,” he notes.

Commenting on the new installations, Willie Tillery, CEO of AccelaRAD says, “We are pleased at ongoing rapid adoption of all our radiology solutions, particularly during these uncertain economic times.  Our solutions deliver high value for an affordable price, compared to many competing digital imaging applications.  Moreover, as a software-as-a-service offering, they also minimize capital outlay, allowing facilities of any size to enjoy the benefits of a digital environment.”

The AccelaRAD VRN provides advanced PACS, teleradiology and related digital image management functionalities through a sophisticated Internet-based technology that minimizes installation time and expense and enables anywhere, any time image access.  The VRN platform and archived images reside in AccelaRAD’s TIER 4 datacenter, managed by its team of IT experts.  It connects offsite imaging service providers, teleradiology groups and multi-site imaging facilities with their client sites to enable fast, efficient sharing of images in standard diagnostic quality DICOM format.   Using this same Internet-based backbone, AccelaRAD’s new SeeMyRadiology.com platform enables patients to create their own personalized libraries of exams in a centralized location, which can be shared easily and securely with physicians of their choosing.

For hospitals and imaging businesses, SeeMyRadiology.com supports streamlined cross-enterprise image communication with other imaging businesses and referring physicians.  It provides a uniquely effective answer to the red tape of hardcopy image sharing and the time-consuming and cumbersome production of CDs.
